To provide a power storage apparatus capable of achieving both high-speed activation and long service life of a power storage unit.
The power storage apparatus is provided with: a charging circuit 19 connected to a main power supply 15; a power storage unit 29 comprising a main power storage section 23 connected to the charging circuit 19 and a sub-power storage section 27 connected to the charging circuit 19 via a sub-power storage section switch 25; and a control circuit 41 to which the charging circuit 19 and the sub-power storage section switch 25 are connected. When an inner resistance value (R) or a capacitance value (C) of the main power storage section 23 becomes a deterioration limit value, the control circuit 41 judges that the main power storage section 23 is deteriorated and thereafter turns on a sub-power storage section switch 25. Thus, if the main power storage section 23 is not deteriorated, only the main power storage section 23 is used to shorten a fully charging time and high-speed activation can be executed, and if it is deteriorated, the sub-power storage section 27 is connected in parallel to the main power storage section 23 to supplement a decrease in capacity of the main power storage section 23, thereby achieving the long service life of the power storage apparatus 11.
