In the power unit of the small-sized vehicle, the power of a driven pulley shaft 80 is transmitted to an output shaft 25 via an intermediate shaft 101 and then transmitted to a rear wheel via a power transmission mechanism. The output shaft 25 is placed behind the driven pulley shaft 80, the intermediate shaft 101 is placed above the output shaft 25 and the driven pulley shaft 80, and a kick shaft 123 of a start-up kick arm 122 is placed below the driven pulley shaft 80 and parallel to a crankshaft 40. A kick force transmission mechanism 120 for transmitting the power of the kick shaft 123 to the crankshaft 40 is placed on the side opposite, in the vehicle lateral direction, to a belt-type continuously variable transmission 70.
