Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain polyether amides with excellent water absorbancy properties being useful in making polymers including fibers.
CONSTITUTION: In preparing polyether amides by reacting a polyethylene glycol diamine and a first dicarboxylic acid or an ester thereof with a polyoxyalkylene diamine of mol.wt. of at least 500 and a second dicarboxylic acid or an ester thereof, the polyethylene glycol diamine has the formula NH2-(CH2CH2O)x-CH2 CH2-NH2 (wherein x is 2-6) and the first and the second dicarboxylic acids may be the same or different.
