Abstract:
PURPOSE:To carry out the addition of a grown single crystal to another element easily, by dropping a raw material dissolved in an aqueous solution of an alkali in an autoclave from a nozzle onto a seed crystal, and dropping an aqueous solution of an element to be added simultaneously thereon. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution 3 of an alkali containing a raw material for a single crystal is introduced into a presurre vessel 2 of an autoclave and then continuously dropped through a pressure nozzle 6 onto a seed crystal 8 prepared by cutting the growth face therefrom. A solution containing a dissolved element to be added is then continuously dropped from a conduit 11, e.g. quartz tube, onto the seed crystal 8. According to the method, the element to be added can be easily added to the single crystal without melting or dissolving the element to be added with the raw material.
