To achieve soft pressing of a garment in accordance with the type of its material and texture and speedy and finely press finishing a stitching part at the sides of an outerwear, which is difficult to finely finish with an upper trowel, by a simple operation without reducing the working efficiency.
A timer 13 is activated when a switch 8 is turned off while an upper trowel 3 presses a garment 1. Then the upper trowel 3 is slowly raised and when the switch 8 is turned on in a specified time frame the upper trowel 3 is slowly lowered to softly press the garment 1. After a specified time the upper trowel 3 is restored to an intrinsic elevating speed to swiftly press finish the garment. A control device 14 which controls the upper trowel 3 in this way is provided and this control device 14 is electrically connected to a control valve 10 and an electromagnetic valve 9. The control valve 10 adjusts the amount of a pressurizing agent flowing through a channel 7 and is connected to an inlet port P of the electromagnetic valve 9.
