Abstract:
A pressure ratio multiplier adapted for a turbine engine fuel control a comprises a first bellows 12 responsive to the difference between compressor discharge and air bleed pressure, P3, PB and a second evacuated bellows 14 responsive to air bleed pressure, the forces produced by the two bellows acting in additive fashion to move a lever arm 26 which in turn is connected to regulate a fuel metering valve. The force output from the pressure ratio multiplier is directly proportional to compressor discharge pressure, and is a function of the ratio of compressor discharge pressure to bleed air. The output is used to modify the fuel flow acceleration limit of a turbine engine as a function of compressor bleed air flow. The device can be used as a pneumatic computer in other applications.
