Title:
PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE FOR SHIP ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002046690
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a pressure relief valve for a ship engine, which is capable of improving operation of a stable and efficient engine cylinder.

A valve 100 has a first chamber 150 and a second chamber 152, a cooling liquid flows to communicate with the first chamber 150, and a cylinder head water jacket communicates with a second chamber by flow. A flow passage 160 is interposed between the first chamber and the second chamber, a plunger 162 is urged to prevent ordinarily a flow from the first chamber to the second chamber. If a pressure of the cooling liquid in the first chamber exceeds a pressing force of a plunger, the pressure of the cooling liquid of the first chamber moves the plunger from a closed position to an opening position, and the cooling liquid flows from the first chamber to the second chamber. As a result, the cooling liquid flows through a valve to a cylinder head cooling jacket.
