PURPOSE: To provide a pressure-resistant and self-standing container which is molded as a unit without use of a base cup and shows an excellent self- standing stability even when an inner pressure acts therein, by providing at least one of recessed part at the outer side of grounding positions in respective legs.

CONSTITUTION: Five legs 10 are arranged every same interval in the periphery at the bottom of a container 1. Respective legs 10 are extended smoothly from the shell wall of the container 1 and the container is provided with the grounding faces 11 which contact the supporting face of container at the lower end. One longitudinally long elliptical recession 12 is formed in the radial direction in every leg. Since the recessions 12 are formed at the outside of the grounding faces 11, it brings a great resistance against expansion. Accordingly, the lower end of the legs 10 does not extend outward and hence, it prevents the legs from uneven deformation. The recession 12 is not necessarily required to be longitudinally elliptical but it may be laterally elliptical. And the shape of recession 12 is not necessarily required to be ellipptical but a circular, triangular and square shapes are also serviceable.
