Abstract:

To conduct motor suspension control without giving an impression of the occurrence of a defect and trouble to a user.

The printer includes: a motor for giving driving force to a driven unit through own rotation; a calculating means for calculating a heat amount correlation value being a value having correlation with the heat amount accumulated in the motor, and, as a means for intermittently rotating the motor by leaving the motor for a predetermined interval; and a control means for shortening the length of its interval so that the number of times that the calculated heat amount correlation value exceeds a threshold value increases.
