Title:
PRINTER USING TEMPERATURE-SENSITIVE LIQUID ABSORPTIVE RESIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06115122
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease running cost and to prevent a recording medium from being soiled by using temperature-sensitive liquid absorptive resin as an ink retainer.

CONSTITUTION: An ink retainer 1 is constituted by laminating temperature- sensitive liquid absorptive resin 1b on a base film 1a and providing the layer of resin 1b on the outside. The ink retainer 1 is wound in a stretching state between a transfer part A and an ink supply part B. In the transfer part A, a thermal head 2 is opposed to a platen 6 through a recording medium 7 and the ink retainer 1. In the ink supply part B, a part of the ink retainer 1 is immersed in ink 9 held in an ink feeder 8 by a guide roller 4. Melting temperature of ink 9 is so set that it is higher than room temperature and lower than the transition temperature of temperature-sensitive liquid absorptive resin 1b. A heating means 10 is immersed in ink 9. Ink is heated at the melting point, liquefied and absorbed in resin 1b. In the transfer part A, ink of a heating part depending on the thermal head 2 is melted, drained and transferred. However ink of an unheated part intactly is in a solid state.
