Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which has a cleaning part which cleans contact parts provided between the body part and a lid part.SOLUTION: In a printer including a body part storing a continuous printing medium 200 and a lid part 40 which is provided openably and closably in the body part and protecting the printing medium stored in the body part, there are provided a detection part 44 which is arranged in the lid part and detects a mark printed preliminarily on the printing medium for cueing of the printing medium, a pair of contact parts which are arranged in the lid part and the body part so as to transmit signals of the detection part to the body part, is non-contact when the lid part is opened and comes in contact when the lid part is closed and cleaning parts 60, 66 and 68 which clean the contact part of the body part, between the contact parts, in conjunction with an operation of opening/closing the lid part.
