To provide a privacy protection method and system that can solve a problem that anther person can possibly confirm the position of a user utilizing a position information service at any time when the user once tells its password to the other person.
A user B generates a disabled position confirmation list and registers a person (e.g. a user A), by whom the position of the user B is undesirably confirmed, to the list in this invention. The user B transmits the disabled position confirmation list to a position information service center and the center, when receiving an access for position confirmation, confirms whether or not the accessing party is registered in the disabled position confirmation list. When registered, the center transmits a message denoting disabled position confirmation to the accessing party.
