PURPOSE: 4-Substituted amodo-3,5-dihalogeno-α-substituted aminomethylbenzyl alcohols and their acid adduct salts of formula I where X is halogen; R is alkyl,alkoxycarbonyl,acyl,methanesulfonyl or carbamoyl; R2 is alkyl,chloroalkyl or formula III (where R3 and R4 are H or alkyl; R5 and R6 are H,alkyl,alkoxy or OH; n is 1-3) are new: in an example,3,5-dichloro4-methylamino-α-(N-t-butylaminomethyl)-benzyl alcohol.
