Abstract:
To provide a processing method for a crank shaft that can secure processing accuracy while shortening a cycle time for grinding the crank shaft at a single grinding station, without requiring conveyance of the crank shaft to the other grinding station.SOLUTION: A processing method for a crank shaft 1, in which the crank shaft is gripped by tailstock centers 18L and 18R and rotationally ground, includes: a step S1 of pressing a rear flange part 3; a step S2 of making chucks 16L and 16R grip a front shaft part 2 and the rear flange part 3 respectively; a step S3 of detecting a reference position of the crank shaft 1; a step S4 of performing grinding on the basis of the reference position detected in the step S3; steps S8 and S9 of releasing the chuck 16L and making the tailstock center 18L press the front shaft part 2; a step S10 of detecting the reference position of the crank shaft 1; and a step S11 of grinding the front shaft part 2 on the basis of the reference position detected in the step S10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
