Abstract:

PURPOSE: To recduce production process and produce homogeneous turbine blades by packing titanium powder to the inside shell housing formed to a vane shape and letting the same melt and freeze through radiation of electron beams and coolant.

CONSTITUTION: Titanium powder material is sent to an inside shell housing 8 through a vessel 1 and a material feed pipe 16, and is applied with vibrations by an exciter 13. During this time, an electron beam radiator 2 applies the heat for melting the blank, and in the meantime, coolant is fed through a coolant inlet 10 and coolant inlet 10 and coolant pass port 18 to melt and freeze the blank. Such processes are subsequently repeated and finally the titanium powder material is molded to the desired vane shape. It is desirable to use the titanium powder material containing alloy elements of about 5Al-2Cr-1Fe for the portions particularly requiring strength such as insert parts, base parts, etc., or use the titanium powder material containing alloy elements of about 18V-11Cr-3Al for the vane front edge part which is likely to receive erosion by the water drops formed during steam operation.
