To readily obtain an allyl compound useful as an intermediate for producing medicines, agrochemicals, etc., by using a specific compound as a catalyst.
A compound of formula II (R2 and R3 are each H, a lower alkyl, etc.; R4 is a lower alkyl) is reacted with a compound of formula III (R5 is a lower alkyl) in the presence of a compound of formula I (R1 is a lower alkyl; Tf is SO2Rf (Rf is a fluorine atom, etc.) to give an allyl compound of formula IV. In the reaction, ≥1 mol of the compound of formula III is used based on 1 mol of the compound of formula II, 0.01-50 mol.% of the compound of formula I is used based on the compound of formula II and the reaction is carried out in a solvent such as methanol approximately at a room temperature. Consequently the objective allyl compound can be obtained efficiently, in high selectivity and in high yield.
