Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title fiber excellent in feeling touch, durability, spinnability and resistance to washing by mixing a specific quaternary ammonium salt with a viscose followed by spinning in an acidic spinning bath.

CONSTITUTION: A quaternary ammonium salt of the formula (R1 and R2 are each 8-30C alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl; one of them being 1-4C alkyl; R3 and R4 are each 1-4C alkyl; X is halogen or anion of inorganic or organic acid) such as stearyl trimethylammonium chloride is mixed at a level of 2.2wt.%, based on the cellulose, with a viscose at the concentrations of cellulose and alkali being e.g. 8.5wt.% and 7.2wt.%, respectively, followed by spinning in an acidic spinning bath, thus obtaining the objective fiber. It is preferable that the 0.3-3wt.% of said ammonium salt be used based on the cellulose.
