Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound useful as an antimicrobial agent for livestocks by dissolving essence extracted from a specific plant with a lower alcohol into diluted hydrochloric acid, partitioning the solution with benzene and concentrating the water layer.
CONSTITUTION: Essence extracted from Coscinium fenestatum COLEBRE of the family Menispermaceae with a lower alcohol (e.g. methanol or ethanol) is dissolved in diluted hydrochloric acid and partitioned with benzene and the water layer is concentrated to give the objective compound.
