To obtain an inexpensive casing for an instrument, to correspond to the alteration of the specifications of the casing extemporaneously and to effectively prevent the detachment of a magnetic chip from the casing.
In a method for producing a casing for a cross coil type instrument having a disc-shaped magnet rotated by the angle corresponding to the current passing quantity of a cross coil built therein and housing a magnetic chip returning the magnet when the passage of a current is stopped in the small hole 11a provided to the surface thereof, paste containing a synthetic resin or rubber and a magnetic powder is injected into the small hole 11a to be cured or cooled to be solidified to house the magnetic chip. The casing 11 is fed by a conveyor 21 and, when the casing 11 reaches a predetermined position, the paste is injected into the small hole 11a provided to the surface of the casing by the paste injection device 22 provided above the conveyor 21 and pref. heated by the heater 23 provided on the downstream side of the paste injection device.
