Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve gloss of white paper, by adding a small amount of tartaric acid to an aqueous solution of water soluble salts of solidifying agent.
CONSTITUTION: 0.1-1.0vol.%, preferably 0.2-0.5vol.% tartaric acid solution is added to a solidifying liquid which is an aqueous solution of water soluble salts of calcium, zinc, barium, magnesium and aluminum to sufficiently carry out gelation of coated layer and improve mold release properties from a cast drum 5 and improve the gloss of cast-coated paper 7 from 90% to 92-98%.
