Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound useful as a raw material monomer for cellooligosaccharides, capable of giving high-polymerization degree cellooligosaccharides useful as food additives, medicines, clinical test enzyme substrates, etc.

CONSTITUTION: This new compound, a β-D-cellotriosyl fluoride, is expressed by the formula. For obtaining this compound, benzyl 2,3,6-tri-o-benzyl-β-D- glucopyranoside is first obtained from glucose, via 2,3,4,6-tetra-o-acetyl-α-D- glucopyranosyl, benzyl β-D-glucopyranoside; and the 2,3,6-tri-o-benzyl-β-D- glucopyranoside is then reacted with 2,3,6,2',3',4',6'-hepta-o-acetyl-α-D-cellobiosyl produced from cellobiose octaacetate; and the resultant product is converted into 4-o-[2,3,6-trioacetyl-4-o-(2,3,4,6-tetra-o-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)-β-D- glucopyranosyl]glucopyranose, etc.
