To improve gas permeability and water absorbency by substituting charcoal for a part of aggregate.
Charcoal is substd. for a part of aggregate in concrete for building, paving concrete or paving asphalt or charcoal is used as an admixture. When charcoal is used in concrete for building, dew condensation phenomenon and the growth of mold are prevented and warmth and calmness in a wooden house are ensured because charcoal has electromagnetic wave shielding property and generates negative ions. When charcoal is used in paving concrete or asphalt, dew condensation phenomenon and the growth of mold are prevented, water absorbency is improved in a rainfall or snowfall and the stagnation of water on a paved road surface and a slip accident can be prevented. When charcoal is used in asphalt, a fire by heating is a matter of concern but there is no need of apprehension because 300-330°C ignition point of black charcoal and 440-482°C ignition point of white charcoal are higher than 210°C temp. at the time of heating and mixing asphalt.
