Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a product which is improved in resistance to nitric acid and above all, resistance to intergranular corrosion in the stage of producing a steel plate and forged material of a titled stainless steel having a specific compsn. by specifying the heating temp. of a casting ingot and the forging ratio in hot working and limiting crystal grain sizes.

CONSTITUTION: A steel plate and forging material of a ferriteaustenite two-phase stainless steel which contains ≤0.03% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 25W35% Cr, 6W 15% Ni and ≤0.35% N, is added with 0.001W0.030% B according to need, consists of the balance Fe and satisfies the formulas I WIII is produced. The heating temp. of a casting ingot is maintained at ≥1,200°C and the forging ratio by hot working (overall reduction ratio from the casting ingot) is made at ≥5. The average crystal grain size is then made ≤0.015mm and the intended product is obtd.
