Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method whereby a conductive foamed rubber roller having the smallest possible variation of a resistance value of the roller can be produced without being affected by storing temperature, etc.; a conductive foamed rubber roller produced by such a production method; and an image forming apparatus having the conductive foamed rubber roller installed therein.SOLUTION: The production method of a conductive foamed rubber roller comprises the steps of: extrusion-molding a rubber composition continuously in a cylindrical form; continuously foaming and cross-linking the extrusion-molded cylindrical body 7 which has been passed through a micro wave crosslinking apparatus 8 and then a hot wind crosslinking apparatus 9 without cutting the cylindrical body and while leaving its long length as is; and cooling the cylindrical body so that its surface temperature becomes 130°C or lower by blowing cool air through a duct 11 of a spot cooler. A conductive foamed rubber roller is produced through these steps. An image forming apparatus has the conductive foamed rubber roller installed therein.
