Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the practicable disk substrate consisting of aluminum by heating a disk substrate consisting of the aluminum and forming a boehmite film on the disk substrate.

CONSTITUTION: The boehmite film is formed on Al. For example, the disk substrate which has 8-inch diameter and consists of the Al alloy, the quality of which complies with the requirements specified in JIS-5086 and 0.5% triethanol amine is added into ion exchange water to adjust the pH of the liquid to 9. This liquid is boiled over one hour in atm. to form about 1μm boehmite film on the disk substrate. A UV curing resin of an acrylic system is then applied thereon and is cured by irradiation with UV rays. The adhesive ness to the UV curing resin is improved in this way and the use of the Al is possible in the same manner as with glass substrates.
