Abstract:

PURPOSE: To selectively and readily obtain the subject compound with one-pot and without necessary of any expensive reducing agent by using efficiently available R-3-chlor-1,2-propanediol as raw material and reacting with cyanating agent.

CONSTITUTION: R-3-chlor-1,2-propanediol expressed by formula I is used and reacted with cyanating agent preferably in the presence of 0.1-2equiv., preferably 0.5-1.5equiv. tertiary amine such as triethylamine in the reaction system, and further preferably in methanol at 20-100°C to obtained a compound expressed by formula II. Cyanide of alkaline metal such as NaCN or KCN is used as cyanating agent. Besides, raw material compound expressed by formula I is efficiently produced by stereoselective decomposition by microorganism of racemic 3-chlor-1,2-propanediol.
