Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a plastic sheet reduced in thickness irregularity and internal strain by holding a polymerization cell between one set of opposed heat transfer plates through which a fluid controlled in temp. flows at the time of thermal polymerization and controlling the temp. of the polymerization cell by the fluid.
CONSTITUTION: A polymerization cell 101 is formed by a mold 104 consisting of first and second thin-walled molds 104A, 104B and a form (gasket) 105 and MMA(methyl methacrylate) syrup being a material of a plastic sheet is injected into the polymerization cell 101 to be thermally polymerized by the heat of the fluid 120 passing through heat transfer plates 102, 103. At the time of this thermal polymerization, the whole of the polymerization cell 101 is held between one set of the opposed heat transfer plates 102, 103. The temp. of the polymerization cell 101 is controlled by the fluid 120 controlled in temp. through the heat transfer plates 102, 103. Therefore, a plastic sheet reduced in thickness irregularity is produced.
