PURPOSE: To reduce unpleasant noises by making edges of flock fibers projecting from the surface of a profile material into rounded forms to relieve dragging friction with movable opposite surfaces of windows, etc., of motor vehicles.

CONSTITUTION: Flock fibers 1 comprising staple fibers of polyester or polyamide are vertically planted on the surface of the profile material 8 made of rubber or synthetic polymer through an adhesive layer 2 in the profile material for noise reduction. Subsequently, the comparatively sharp-pointed cut edges of the free ends of the fibers 1 are made into rounded forms 6 by heat treatment to relieve the dragging friction caused by the contact with the movable opposite surfaces.
