PURPOSE: To form a silicone gel by making ultrasonic energy act on a liquid- state organopolysiloxane mixture containing a vinyl silicone, a silicon hydride siloxane and an effective amount of a platinum group metal catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid-state organopolysiloxane mixture is formed by mixing 100 wt.% vinyl silicone shown by formula I [C2H3 is vinyl, R is a univalent organic radical of C1-C13 except for an olefin unsaturated component and (t) is an integer to give 100 to 200,000 centipoises (25°C)], 1 to 40 wt.% silicon hydride siloxane shown by formula II [R2 is a univalent hydrocarbon radical of 1-13C except for the olefin unsaturated component, and (n) is an integer to give a coupler having a chain stop unit in 3 to 9 mol.% of coupled siloxy units with the viscosity of 1 to 500 centipoises (25°C)], and a platinum group metal catalyst of the effective amount for an additional reaction. This liquid- state mixture is brought into contact with an ultrasonic energy generator to radiate ultrasonic waves at a frequency of from 10 to 50 kHz with the output of 5×10-5 to 100 watt/cm2/sec, so that silicone gels can be provided.
