To provide the method for easily producing a slow-release granular fertilizer contg. a large amount of a potassium silicate fertilizer in a good granulation yield.
This granular fertilizer is produced by mixing a raw material contg. a potassium silicate fertilizer and 25 to 100 pts.wt. of a UF(urea- formaldehyde condensate) based on 100 pts.wt. of the potassium silicate fertilizer to form a mixed fertilizer and granulating the mixed fertilizer. The granular fertilizer, i.e., the objective final product preferably contains ≥30 wt.% of a potassium silicate fertilizer and ≥10 wt.% of the UF fertilizer. Further, optionally, a fertilizer(s) other than potassium silicate fertilizers and UF fertilizers, appropriately selected from nitrogen fertilizers, potassium fertilizers, phosphate fertilizers, magesian fertilizers, organic fertilizers, etc., can be mixed into the mixed fertilizer.
