To provide a photographing system that ensures an image of optimum density whether the image is a person or a background, by providing and using a projector capable of projecting the background with a sufficient quantity of light at a time of photographing.

The photographing system includes: the projector having a light bulb and a strobe as light sources; and an illumination means having a light bulb and a strobe as light sources; a photographing means for photographing a person; and a control means for performing control for setting the photographing conditions of the photographing means by projecting the background by the use of the light bulb of the projector and illuminating the person by the use of the light bulb of the illumination means, and for performing the control of the operation of the projector in synchronous with the photographing means photographing the person while illuminating the person by the use of the strobe of the illumination means.
