To provide an ink jet recording sheet, which is excellent in ink absorbency, which itself and the ink jet image on which faithfully reproduce the finished color tone and gloss in printing as compared with the ordinary proof sheet for press such as an offset printing or the like and consequently which is suitable for proof reading, and its manufacturing method.
In this ink jet recording sheet, the color difference ΔE* according to JIS Z8730 between the recording sheet and a printing paper represented with the lightness index L* and chromaticness indices a* and b* according to JIS Z8729 satisfies an inequality: 0≤ΔE*≤3, the difference ΔGs60 between the 60 degree specular glossiness according to JIS Z8741 of the non-printed part of the recording sheet and that of the non-printed part of the printing paper satisfies an inequality: 0≤ΔGs60≤15, the 60 degree specular glossiness of the 100 to 400% solid printed part on one or more colors among YMCK of the recording sheet is higher than that of the non-printed part and its difference lies within 8 to 30.
