Abstract:
To provide a propulsion system capable of reducing fuel consumption in low speed navigation, etc, by being capable of stopping an engine directly driving some propulsion devices among a plurality of propulsion devices while maintaining straight advancing property of navigation in a vessel including the plurality of propulsion devices.SOLUTION: A first electric motor 4a and a second electric motor 4b are electrically connected to each other to be capable of supplying power generated by rotation of one of them to the other in a propulsion system 2. A controller switches a first clutch 54 to a cut-off state and switches a second clutch 55, a third clutch 64, and a fourth clutch 65 to transmission states when a first engine 3a is stopped. A first propeller 10a is driven by the first electric motor 4a rotated by electric power generated by the second electric motor 4b using power from a second engine 3b. A second propeller 10b is directly driven by power from the second engine 3b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
