Title:
PUMP OR COMPRESSOR USING MAGNETIC FLUID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000224834
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To make a transfer section longer without increasing an installation space, and to enhance transferring ability by making the transfer section spiral, arranging a shifting magnetic field forming means along the peripheral surface of the spiral transfer section, and generating a rotating magnetic field which moves in a circumferential direction.

A pipe-line 1 is a closed-loop circulating line, and a spiral transfer section 2 and a return section 3 are formed between a separating portion 5 and a leading-in portion 4 for fluid to be transported, and the return section 3 is filled up with magnetic fluid M. A rotor 16 composed of an iron core 14 and windings 15, and a stator 13 composed of an iron core 11 and windings 12 as a shifting magnetic field forming means 8 are arranged along the spiral transfer section, and generate a rotating magnetic field which moves in the circumferential direction. Small pieces of the magnetic fluid M are formed at appropriate intervals by a magnetic fluid dividing means 9, and fluid to be transported to be led in from a feeding-in pipe 6 is sandwitched and force-fed. The small pieces of the magnetic fluid M are caused to operate as pistons P which fill in the fluid to be transported, apply pressure according to a moving speed by a rotating magnetic field, and transfer the fluid.
