Title:
PWM AUDIO AMPLIFIER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002151979
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a PWM audio amplifier with high efficiency that requires no excess stabilization of a power supply.

The PWM audio amplifier is provided with an arithmetic means 60 that calculates a signal on the basis of a difference between a drive signal driving a speaker and an input audio signal, a generating means 30 that generates a PWM signal on the basis of an arithmetic output from the arithmetic means 60 and a prescribed sawtooth waveform, a switching means 15 that superimposes the input audio signal on a DC power supply by switching the DC power supply resulting from rectifying an AC power supply on the basis of the PWM signal to be generated, a transformer means 20 that steps down the DC power supply on which the input audio signal is superimposed by using the switching means 15, and extract means 51, 52, 53 that extract the component of the input audio signal superimposed on the DC power supply stepped down by the transformer means 20, and the input audio signal extracted by the extract means is used for a drive signal of the speaker.
