Abstract:

To measure the number of a specified microorganism in a sample containing impurities such as environmental sample without using a special purifying means.

The abundance of a target microorganism in a specimen is regulated to at least 1002 pieces/g or more, a blocking agent is added to the specimen, and a determination reagent is added to the specimen to form a bonded product of the target microorganism and the determination reagent. The determination reagent which does not form a bonded product is separated from the bonded product, the quantity of at least either one of the bonded product and the separated determination reagent is measured, and the quantity of the target microorganism is determined from the measured value.
