Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack and pinion type steering device capable of preventing the deterioration of support rigidity of a rack shaft, and preventing rigid feelings of steering from being impaired while preventing generation of a striking sound by the collision of a bush.SOLUTION: A rack and pinion type steering device 5 includes a pinion shaft 6, a rack shaft 7 that engages with the pinion shaft, a housing 9 having a rack accommodation part 11 for accommodating the rack shaft, a first bush 18 interposed between the rack shaft and the rack accommodation part in the vicinity of one end of the rack accommodation part, which slidably supports the rack shaft, and a second bush 18 interposed between the rack shaft and the rack accommodation part in the vicinity of the other end of the rack accommodation part, which slidably supports the rack shaft. The first bush 18 and the second bush 18 are energized from the end side to the center side in the longitudinal direction of the rack accommodation part 11 respectively, and are arranged so as not to move to the center side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
