PURPOSE: To convey recording paper mainly by a drive roller eliminating a driven roller and reduce skew or slip of the recording paper.

CONSTITUTION: A device is arranged in a plotter main body 3 of a plotter 2 equipped with an open/close unit 6. For example, on the peripheral face of a roller made of aluminum, a polyurethane resin layer is layered, so that a drive roller 4 whose friction coefficient on the peripheral face is high, a pinch roller 5 to be rotated opposing the drive roller 4 through a recording paper 23 to be conveyed along the peripheral face of the drive roller 4, and a motor for rotating the drive roller 4 are to be provided. Accordingly, a driven roller will be unnecessary and pinch pressure caused by the pinch roller can be restrained, so that the device can be compact in size and the cost can be reduced.
