To provide a radio terminal device capable of improving communication stability while reducing a network load.
A transmitting/receiving section 12 transmits and receives a search packet for searching for a route of an ad-hoc network between other radio terminal devices. A packet arrival rate calculating section 21 counts the number of packets received for each terminal with respect to the search packet transmitted toward the other terminal by the transmitting/receiving section 12 and calculates an arrival rate of each of search packets. A packet transmission interval determining section 22 determines a transmission interval of transmitting a search packet for each terminal on the basis of the calculated arrival rate. A packet transmission interval management section 23 controls the transmitting/receiving section 12 so as to transmit search packets toward corresponding other terminals at the determined transmission intervals.
