To provide a durable radio wave absorber where the surface resistivity of a resistive film is nearly fixed for a long term, and initially satisfactory radio wave absorption performance can be maintained for a long term.
The radio wave absorber A is provided with a resistive film 2 on one side of a dielectric layer 1 and a radio wave reflector 3 on the opposite side of the dielectric layer 1, and silica vapor deposition layers 5 and 5 are stacked on both surfaces of the resistive film 2. Thus, an influence of moisture (open air containing water content), heat, light, etc. on the resistive film 2 can be substantially blocked with the silica vapor deposition layers 5 and 5, so as to keep the surface resistivity of the resistive film 2 nearly constant, prevent the degradation of radio wave absorbing performance due to a change in surface resistivity, and maintain initially satisfactory radio wave absorption performance for a long term. As a result, the durability and reliability can be extensively improved.
