To provide a reaction product of a carbon material and a phenylene derivative in which the carbon material such as carbon nanotube is easily dispersed with stable dispersing state without using a strong acid .
The reaction product uses the carbon material of (A) and the phenylene derivative of (B). (A) is at least one carbon material selected from a group comprising carbon nanotube, carbon black and graphite. (B) is N-phenyl-p-phenylene derivative expressed by general formula (1). In general formula (1), each of R1 and R2 expresses a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group, an amino group and an aminoaryl group, wherein a 1-12C, particularly 1-6C alkyl group, aryl group, alkoxy group or aminoaryl group is preferable. The substituting position of R1 can be any of o-position and m-position. The substituting positions of R1 in a repeating unit (n) can be equal to or different from each other and for example, it is allowed that the repeating unit where the substituting position of R1 is in o-position and the repeating unit where R1 is in m-position are unified in random. The substituting position of R2 can be any of o-position and m-position and (n) expresses an integer of ≥1 and <100 and preferably 1-4, and particularly n=1.
