To provide a recording control method of an optical disk recording or reproducing apparatus which can record a signal on a disk by an optical pickup.
After an offset adjustment signal is recorded in a test writing area established in an inner periphery side of the disk while changing a tilt angle, the operation for reproducing the offset adjustment signal is performed, and an optimum tilt angle T1 is found from changes of recording characteristics determined from the reproducing signal. Then, after the offset adjustment signal is recorded in the test writing area established in a periphery side of the disk while changing the tilt angle, the operation for reproducing the offset conditioning signal is performed and an optimum tilt angle T2 is found from changes of recording characteristics determined from the reproducing signal. On the basis of magnitude of difference of net angle between the tilt angles T1 and T2, changeable speed of the recording rate is determined.
