Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain recording paper having no defect of letters and picture images slightly being watched in a specific direction, showing a white ground by constituting the recording paper in such a way that indecent light will not propagate in the direction parallel to a paper plane in the paper and reflected light goes out in a scattering manner.
CONSTITUTION: A reflecting layer 3 comprising a metal foil, e.g. aluminum foil or a multi-layer film of a dielectric material such as zinc sulfide, having 50-1,000μm thickness is formed on paper 4 comprising fibers of trees and plants. Further spherical transparent balls 2 having excellent light transmission and 2-20μm diameter are uniformly dispersed and fixed through an adhesive to the reflecting layer and a transparent film 1 such as polyethylene having excellent light transmittance and ink absorption is laminated to the reflecting layer to give recording paper. Since light going from the surface of the recording paper is transmitted through the transparent film 1, part of the light is reflected in a scattering manner from the surface of the transparent balls 2, the rest of the light is not scattered in the direction parallel to the paper plane, reflected through the interior of the transparent balls 2 from the reflecting layer 3 and diffusively goes out in a scattering manner from the paper plane in the wide direction, the distance between indecent light position of light and going out position of the light is small and light spreading and dot gain phenomena are suppressed.
