PURPOSE: To recover the metal in slag at high yield, by a method wherein a magnetically attracted substance obtained by a method wherein abandoned slag generated during the preparation of high carbon ferrochrome crushed to be subjected to ferromagnetical beneficiation and remelting slag high in metal content are crushed to a specific size or less to be subjected to gravity beneficiation treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The metal of high carbon ferrochrome remains in high viscous slag formed during the preparation of high carbon ferrochrome in an electric furnace in an amount of 1W2wt%. This slag is crushed to a particle size of 25mm or less to be subjected to magnetic separation under ferromagnetic force of 8,000 gauss or more. The metal-containing slag magnetically attracted by a mineral processing machine and slag containing the metal of high carbon ferrochrome solidified on and adhered to a ladle and a flow trough are crushed to a particle size of 15mm or less. This crushed slag is treated by a gravity separator to separate and recover the metal from the slag.
