PURPOSE: To minimize the power consumption of a compressor, by restricting the amount of steam generated from an exothermic reaction system to the level corresponding to the reaction heat of the system.
CONSTITUTION: An indirect heat exchanger 5 is placed between the first and the second compressors 3, 4 for the compression of generated steam. The steam taken out of the vacuum reactor 1 in an amount corresponding to the generated heat of reaction, is compressed with the first compressor 3, and the compressed steam is subjected to the heat exchange in a heat exchanger 5 with the liquid obtained by the reaction to raise the temperature of the reaction product liquid. Since the amount of steam generated from the reaction system is limited to the level corresponding to the heat of reaction, the power consumption of the compressors can be minimized. Furthermore, since an indirect heat exchanger is placed between the first and the second compressors, it is sufficient to compress the steam at the first compressor to a pressure equilibrium to the condensation temperature in the heat exchange using the reaction product liquid as cooling medium, and accordingly, the compression ratio can be decreased, and the power can be saved. Further, the system can be simplified resulting in the easy operation and maintenance and the low installation cost.
