Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make a hydraulically drive vehicle controllable in the event of a main controller failure by providing means for disabling the main controller and enabling an auxiliary controller to start.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of control members 84a, 48b, 90a, 90b each movable to a plurality of locations are provided for indicating target fluid outputs for actuators of a hydraulic system. A plurality of position sensors 82a-82d are provided for sensing the position of respective control members and responsively producing respective position signals, a main controller 92 receives and processes the position signals and responsively produces control signals and delivers them to the actuators. An auxiliary controller 100 is normally disabled and adapted to receive the position signals, process the received position signals, responsively produce control signals and deliver the control signals to the actuators. When the main controller 92 fails, this controller is disabled and the auxiliary controller 100 is enabled.
