Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a reed capable of longitudinally varying breadth of a guide groove, such as widening vertical groove breadth of a guide groove for weft inserting air in trumpet-like toward a main nozzle, in relating to a reed in an air-jet loom and production of the reed.
SOLUTION: In this air-jet loom, a guide groove 1 having a breadth narrower than a breadth Z of notches 6 provided in every reed dents 8 is formed by arranging plural reed dents 8 having notches of a breadth broader than a groove breadth X of a guide groove formed in a part varying the groove breadth X of the guide groove in alternately displacing their vertical positions. The reed dents 8 having broad breadth notches 6 are short reed dents 8 having vertical size shorter than normal reed dents 8 and a position of the short reed dents 8 are decided by alternately bringing upper ends or lower ends of the short reed dents 8 into contact with two position deciding guides 10 and 11 having inclined or curved parts 12 for deciding positions of the short reed dents 8, and whole of the reed dents are fixed. Then, the groove breadth X of the guide groove 1 is normalized with lower edges of notches 6 of upwardly displaced reed dents and upper edges of notches 6 of downwardly displaced reed dents.
