Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation in visibility by the reflection of a background occurring in the light reflection of a reflection plate and the direct reflection of illumination, etc., in a reflection type liquid crystal display element.
SOLUTION: A metallic electrode 4 is formed by depositing Cr over the entire surface of prescribed pixel regions by a vapor deposition method or sputtering method, etc. The surface reflectivity of this metallic electrode 4 is regulated to a range of about 50 to 70% by the film thickness of the Cr layer or film forming conditions, etc. A different metallic layer 8 deposited to a prescribed film thickness is formed by a vapor deposition method or sputtering method of Al in the half region on the surface of the metallic electrode 4. First reflection blocks A (reflectivity 50 to 70%) and second reflection blocks (reflectivity 90 to 100%) are formed within the pixel regions D by such structure.
