Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a reinforced plate glass by which the strength of glass surfaces can sufficiently enhanced and a stable quality is secured at high production efficiency, and a reinforced plate glass manufactured by the method.
A reinforced plate glass (10) is composed of an inorganic oxide glass, and is provided with compressive stress layers by chemical reinforcement on plate surfaces (11, 12) opposing in the plate thickness direction. Plate end surfaces (13, 14, 15, 16) have regions where compressive stress is formed and regions where no compressive stress is formed.
