A relay device comprises: an ERP module 15 for performing processing based on the ERP, an OSPF module 11 for generating route information on each destination by OSPF route calculation processing; a failure point locating module 14 for detecting a failure point of the failure detected by the ERP module 15; and an ECMP switching unit which updates a route table in a way that the failure point becomes a next transfer destination and a route to a destination an ECMP exists is switched to another ECMP route to the destination, and which notifies the OSPF module 11 of the failure point. The OSPF module 11 updates the route table based on the failure point.
